William Adams is the Managing Member of USPA Nationwide Security of Northern Florida
William was born in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago IL, where he enlisted in the Navy in May 1993. He attended Basic Training, Basic Hospital Corpsman training and received specialized training in Aviation Medicine before transferring to NAVAL HOSPITAL Adak Alaska for duty in JULY 1994. During this tour he qualified as Emergency Medical Technician, received Cold Weather Medicine training and volunteered for the Base Search & Rescue Team.
In January, 1998 he reported to Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Mobile Unit Seventeen as a Ordnance Clearance Diver (OCD) candidate. After completion of Dive & Demolitions training, he reported to, Eglin AFB. FL for Basic Explosive Ordnance Disposal School, he graduated in May, 2002 and reported to EOD Mobile Unit ELEVEN, a Special Operations Command responsible for deployment of EOD/Diving & Salvage detachments in support of EOD, Mine Countermeasures, Homeland Defense & Security operations. While at EODMU11 he deployed with Carrier Strike Group, USS CARL VINSON. William performed security sweeps & force protection dives on any approaching water craft, therefore enhancing the overall security posture of the strike group while in Pusan Korea, Yokusuka Japan & other ports. William was then placed on a Mine Counter Measures team as a EOD, diving & demolitions first line supervisor, where he earned the Army Commendation Medal for participation in 137 high risk mixed-gas, altitude dives, utilizing experimental dive tables, encompassing 81 hours of total dive time, at a sea-level equivalent depth of 270 feet. This led to the recovery and disposal of over 20,000 pounds of hazardous unexploded ordnance. Finally, William deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom on a Combat Expeditionary Support Team. As an EOD, diving & demolitions first line supervisor, he was awarded the Bronze Star & Combat action ribbon for the execution of counter IED combat operations throughout Selah Ad Din providence, where he directly engaged insurgency 24/7 for six consecutive months, directly contributing to the success of the 101st & 82nd Airborne Divisions, 3rd BCT, and 1/187 Infantry & 1/505 Parachute Infantry Regiment. Additionally, during this tour Willam filled positions in Readiness & Training, and Operations Departments, and had the opportunity to provide direct support to the US Secret Service and Bush administration several times, conducting searches of Media equipment, motorcades and hotel sweeps.
In July 2007, William reported back to EOD School to perform as an Instructor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Underwater Ordnance and Demolition Divisions. Throughout his tour, he attained qualifications in 29 topics of instruction in these two separate high-risk divisions, and qualified in three supervisory positions. He supervised over 1,585 high risk training evolutions without incident and instructed more than 6,000 students from all services U.S., International, and civilian officials, he was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal.
For his final tour, he reported to EOD Operational Support Unit Seven in October, 2011 to perform as Training Officer. During this tour, his efforts contributed to the command attaining a grade of 96% on the commands Diving Operational Readiness Assessment and the highest possible score during the command assessment. William was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal upon his retirement in December 2013
William currently works as a Sergeant for the Florida Department of Corrections and currently the CEO of Adams Sentry Services, and Managing Partner of USPA Nationwide Security’s Northern Florida Branch.
